Social Enterprise of the Week Community Shop

Our Social Enterprise of the Week:

Community Shop

Community Shop’s mission is to build stronger individuals and more confident communities. They offer a range of services to support their community, including community hubs, stores and cafes.

Their Vision / Mission:

Community Shop are part of The Company Shop Group, the largest commercial redistributor of food and household products in the UK.

Community Shop aim to make positive changes in communities that need support and achieve this by offering a number of services throughout the local area. They run Community Stores, which sell high quality household products from well-known brands at discounted prices. All the products in these stores are surplus food and household items, donated by big brand supermarkets, helping to reduce waste.

They also provide a Community Hub offering all kinds of services to the local community, from support finding a job to debt and home budgeting advice. As well as this, Community Shop also run Community Kitchen Cafes, great spaces to grab a meal and spend time with friends and family.

Why We Chose Them:

We love the fact that Community Shop are using surplus food to help people in their community. This approach not only helps those who may be struggling but is also great for the environment, as it stops excess food from ending up in landfill.

The Work They Do:

How They Align With Our Values:

Here at Ground Up Digital we understand the importance of reducing waste and think we all need to be more conscious about what we are throwing away.
