Our Social Enterprise of the Week:

myworkhive are a social enterprise helping individuals and organisations embrace remote and flexible working.

Their Vision / Mission:

Many people struggle to find a suitable job after a break in their career, especially one which offers the flexibility they need. myworkhive was set up to solve this problem by connecting skilled individuals to flexible jobs that fit around their lives. myworkhive help people return to work after a career gap as well as finding jobs for people who are struggling to gain employment. They run a number of programmes for both employers looking to build their team and individuals looking for jobs, all of which are designed to help people get back into work.

myworkhive are passionate about making flexible and remote working more accessible for everyone, as flexibility is something many people look for in a job. Remote working offers benefits to both employees and employers as it creates a better work-life balance for staff while also saving businesses money on office space.  As well as all of this remote working is also hugely beneficial to the environment. Commuting accounts for 25% of the distance we travel by car which contributes significantly to UK carbon emissions. By working from home these carbon emissions can be greatly reduced, helping save the planet.

Why We Chose Them:

As many more people are now working from home due to the new lockdown, myworkhive’s resources have become even more important. They are also doing a fantastic job of helping people who may have lost their jobs during the pandemic to find work. Research shows that remote workers are less stressed and more productive so by making remote working more accessible to their employees, businesses can improve their staffs’ wellbeing.

The Work They Do:

How They Align With Our Values:

Inclusion is at the heart of everything myworkhive do and they are committed to making work more flexible and inclusive for everyone. They help people who may be facing barriers when it comes to finding a job, including parents, carers, and people with disabilities. This closely aligns with our social mission here at Ground Up Digital, as we offer job opportunities to people who may have struggled previously to find work. It’s great to find another social enterprise that shares the same values as us!
