Window Wanderland - Social Enterprise of the Week

Our Social Enterprise of the Week:

Window Wanderland

Window Wanderland inspire communities to create magical illuminated art trails in their area.

Their Vision / Mission:

Established in 2015 to connect communities, Window Wanderland help neighbourhoods work together to set up fun, creative window display walking trails. The aim of the organisation is to spread happiness and bring people together through creativity. They have worked with communities around the world, providing them with the tools to set up their own festivals. These festivals help reduce isolation as anyone can get involved by creating a window display and are a great way to feel part of a community. As well as uniting people the festivals can be used by the organisers to raise money for causes and charities, giving them even more significance.

Why We Chose Them:

As many events and celebrations have been cancelled this year due to Covid-19, the festivals Window Wanderland are creating are a great way to lift people’s spirits. Because the displays are self-contained within people’s homes, they are a fantastic Covid-safe way for communities to get together without actually having to be in the same room. This will help people feel connected with their neighbourhood and less isolated, in what has been a difficult year for many.

The Work They Do:

How They Align With Our Values:

Window Wanderland bring people together, creating festivals that are open to everyone. You don’t have to be an artist to join in, anyone can create a display or enjoy the ones created by the local community. It’s great that Window Wanderland are inclusive to everyone as this is something we value highly here at Ground Up Digital. Our social mission is to offer employment to people who may have struggled previously to find work, due to neurodiversity or past mistakes.
